We invite you to experience the difference of Open Bible Christian School. Our mission is to provide an outstanding spiritual and educational environment where all students are prepared to fulfill God’s purpose in their lives. We strive to glorify God through the discipleship of students and the pursuit of excellence, with the Bible as our foundation. Students will develop critical thinking skills and a biblical worldview using God’s word as the foundation of every subject taught. We will use predominately A Beka Book curriculum. Other curriculum will be adopted and used to supplement and enrich courses and programs as needed. Our goal is to challenge each student to gain a firm understanding of all foundational skills required in life.
Open Bible Christian School was founded in 2007. Open Bible Christian Center has had a long-standing interest in Christian Education. Many of our students have attended other church and interdenominational sponsored schools in the area. For some time OBCC has considered having a school of their own in order to assure the development of certain academic, spiritual, and social characteristics in the children of our families. OBCC has also believed that a school can greatly enhance the making of disciples.
The Pastors, Board of Elders, and Board of Directors of Open Bible Christian Center unanimously believe that starting a school would be a great way to allow OBCC to partner with families at a much deeper level. The Pastors and Boards strongly believe that providing our children with critical thinking skills and a biblical worldview will allow them to enter their chosen fields or post-secondary studies with many advantages over peers. To that end, two town meetings were held and subsequently a partnership meeting scheduled to determine if the entire OBCC partnership was in agreement with beginning our own Christian school.
Open Bible Christian School has obtained accreditation through the National Association of Private Schools. This accreditation agencies site improvement model is recognized and approved by the South Dakota Department of Education. Public schools will gladly accept the transfer of credits into their school systems from students enrolled at a N.A.P.S. accredited school. Parents and students can rest assured that OBCS is a quality and state approved educational institution. The National Association of Private Schools is a consortium of Christian Educators and Private School Administrators from across the United States and Canada. The Association is dedicated to recognizing and improving the spiritual and educational quality of Private and Christian Schools, regardless of size. Many of the finest schools in the country are not accredited, yet their students rank with those from the largest and best funded private and public school programs. NAPS seek to recognize, with non-intrusive criteria, the integrity and quality of these programs. The National Association of Private School exists; (1) to promote, recognize and encourage educational programs holding to a Christian moral value system and encourage a traditional family values philosophy of education. (2) assist organizations, private schools and other institutions by providing educational resources and services for the benefit and promotion of Christian morals and traditional family values, and (3) to help ensure the maintenance of such values and standards which promote excellence in education through membership, awards, certification and accreditation, and to perform any and all lawful purposes.
We take pride in our faculty by hiring caring men and women who are all fully qualified or certified to teach and have responded to God's calling to the ministry of Christian education.
